I am a supermarket dietitian working for Hy-Vee in Mankato, MN. I love everything there is about food from growing to shopping, cooking and especially EATING!
My passion is to help people translate nutrition recommendations in to every day life.
I started this blog because it seems like every day someone would ask me “What do YOU eat?” I think half the time people expect me to be an “extreme” eater (vegan, raw, organic, etc.). The reality is, I am a Midwestern girl. I grew up in Iowa, went to college in Minnesota and Wisconsin and now raise my family back in Minnesota. One of my favorite foods is a pineapple brat, for crying out loud. Granted, I typically eat it on a whole wheat bun, no ketchup (it doesn’t blend well with the pineapple) served with grilled or sauteed vegetables.
Balance is the key. Eating healthy is more than adding in one miracle food to cure all ailments. It is about having a healthy relationship with food.
So join me on this journey of health and good eating!
